Themes & Guidelines
We invite articles on the history of the Anglican Church of Canada and the wider Christian experience, especially:
- Key figures in Canadian church history
- Church architecture, hymnody, and liturgy development
- Colonial & post-colonial experiences
- Role of Indigenous & Inuit peoples
- History of ecumenism in Canada
Other relevant works (books/papers) may be considered if they offer insights for Canadian scholarship.
Manuscript: ~7,500 words, double-spaced, triplicate (2 anonymized); electronic OK. Chicago Manual of Style.

Millman Prize Essay Contest 2024
Prize & Eligibility
$500 for the best essay (2021–2023) in English or French on Canadian church history by a Canadian graduate student. Funded by the Thomas R. Millman Endowment Fund.
Requirements
- Max 7,500 words, double-spaced (Chicago style, 16th ed.)
- Include a brief C.V.
- Essays considered for Journal publication

Anglican Missions and Missionaries, 1701–1965
Call for Papers
The Canadian Church Historical Society invites proposals for historical papers and panels on any area relating to Anglican mission work—in or from Canada, the USA, or elsewhere—for a conference at Huron University College, London, Ontario, May 28–30, 2026. Registration is $250.
Authors who wish to be published in the Canadian Church Historical Society should have their papers nearly ready for editing at the time of the conference.
Submission: 250-word proposal (including title), plus abstract & 200-word bio, emailed by September 15, 2025 to missions@cchso.ca.
